Clinical Information
Target species: Equine, Camel, cattle, goats, pigs, dogs and cats.

Indications for use, specifying the target species
In horses, cattle, goats, pigs, dogs and cats:
– Treatment of inflammatory, allergic or shock conditions.

Cortamethasone In cattle and goats:

– Treatment of primary ketosis (acetoneemia, pregnancy toxemia).
– Induction of parturition.

Cortamethasone In the equine:

– Treatment of osteoarticular inflammatory states.

Cons-indications
Don´t use cortamethasone in animals suffering from diabetes mellitus, hyperadrenocorticism, renal insufficiency and heart failure or suffering from peptic ulcers.
Don´t use cortamethasone in animals with infectious disease, unless appropriate anti-infectious therapy is administered at the same time.

Cortamethasone Special warnings for each target species
In horses and Camel, dexamethasone should only be used at the beginning of the disease during laminitis.

Dosage and route of administration all species

Intravenous or intramuscular use.
Equine, Camel, cattle, goats, pigs 0.04 to 0.10 mg / kg (4 to 10 ml / 100 kg)
Dogs, cats 0.05 to 0.10 mg / kg (0.5 to 1 ml / 10 kg) Cortamethasone

Dosification & Administration for Race :
For professional application of Cortamethasone not detected, read the article about dexa for race:

For safe application not detected pre-race: 5 ml for 5 days, suspend 2 days before the race

Overdose (symptoms, emergency management, antidotes), if necessary

When using cortamethasone, high doses of corticosteroids may cause somnolence and lethargy in equines.
